New Delhi: A gruesome incident has come to light from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Here a married woman was shot dead as she was married into a different religion. The condition of the woman remains critical.
The woman has been identified as Anjali. She recently married a man named Abdul Latif. The kin of Abdul were protesting against the marriage. This protest turned into an unfavorable action on November 23. Abdul claims that the woman was shot by one of his relatives named Riyaz Khan. Currently the matter is under investigation.
Anjali was shot from behind
According to the police, Anjali lives in Murlipura area of Jaipur. She works at an Ayurvedic shop. As usual, on November 23, around 10 am, she left home on foot to go to work. At around 10.30 am, a young man approached her on a scooty. Before anyone could understand what’s happening she was shot. She was shot from behind and is currently being treated in a trauma center.
Anjali was shot from behind
Abdul was in his office when Anjali was shot. He was told on the phone that Anjali had been shot. After which he reached the hospital. He also talked to Anjali for a while. At that time he came to know that the voice of a young man riding a scooty sounded like Riyaz. That’s why he suspects Riyaz of shooting himself.
Abdul told that he had done a court marriage with Anjali a year ago. His family members were against this marriage. They were threatening him again and again. That’s why the couple sought security from the police. Had had also applied in the court for security. But they did not get security and Anjali wended up being shot.
Elder brother and Riyaz were threatening
Abdul also told that after marriage, my family is especially against it. My elder brother Latif and his friend relative Riyaz Khan were repeatedly threatening us. We had also given a complaint regarding this in the Sadar police station. But no action was taken. Taking advantage of that, Anjali was shot.
