New Delhi: In an encounter, the Noida Police has arrested an accused in a rape case of a 4-year-old girl. The accused has sustained injuries as the police shot a bullter at him.
The encounter took place near the metro station located in Sector-83 on Thursday. After which, the accused was admitted to the district hospital for treatment. The accused has been identified as Pramod Das of Saharsa, Bihar.
At the time of arrest, the accused had a pistol and cartridges in his possession, also recovered by the police.
Absconded after rape
Additional DCP Saad Miyan Khan said a resident of the Kotwali area has filed a case alleging that his four-year-old daughter was raped by Pramod Das, who lives in the Kotwali area and is absconding.
The Kotwali police started searching for the accused after registering cases under various sections, including the POCSO Act.
On Thursday morning at around 6.30 am, the accused was seen near the metro station located in Sector-83. When the police signalled him to stop, the accused tried to run away by firing at the police team.

The police also retaliated. in which a bullet is lodged in the leg of the miscreant. The police ran and caught the miscreant, who was injured by the bullet.
ACP Noida Amit Pratap said the accused used to live in a rented house at the same place while the girl used to live in his neighbourhood. When the minor’s parents were out on Wednesday morning, the accused assualted the girl.
After reaching home, the minor told his father and mother about the incident. Meanwhile, the accused had absconded from the house.
