Patna, Bihar: In Muzaffarpur, Bihar, a young woman was subjected to physical abuse for six months under the pretence of getting married. The victim claimed that after their Nikah (marriage) was decided, the accused formed a relationship with her and then backed out of their engagement. He began explaining the rationale for dowry when she questioned him. The police are looking into the matter right now.
According to the information received, this case involves a village in the vicinity of the Baruraj police station, where the sexual abuse of a young woman under the pretext of marriage has come to light.

In addition to submitting an application against seven people, including the accused Sabir Hussain, the victim appeared at the police station and begged for justice.
In the application she submitted to the police station, the victim stated that she had chosen Sabir Hussain as her husband. He then began engaging in sexual activity with her, which continued for six months.
When the victim’s father went to the accused’s family to ask about the wedding date, Sabir refused and said his family would only agree to wed after receiving money and a bike. On July 27, the village also held a panchayati. The accused vehemently disobeyed the Panchas.

The victim’s father claimed that the police detained one of the accused on Friday but was released the following day.
Subodh Kumar Sinha, a trainee DSP, referred to the accusations as unfounded and stated that action is being taken in response to the victim’s application.
