Mumbai: Several Mumbai local trains will be affected on Sunday as the railway will work on the maintenance of the mega block on its central and harbour lines and the jumbo block on the western line. Meanwhile, the trans-harbour line and the urban line will work smoothly.
The statement said, “The suburban train services between Belapur/ Nerul and Kharkopar will run as per schedule during the block period. Transharbour line services will be available between Thane-Vashi/Nerul stations during the block period. Special suburban trains will run on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai – Vashi section during the block period.”
Down slow services departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10:14 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. will be diverted on the fast line between Mulund and Matunga stations, stopping at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund, before being re-diverted on the down slow line at Mulund. The trains will arrive 15 minutes late at their destination.
Up-slow services leaving Thane between 10:58 a.m. and 3:59 p.m. will be diverted to the up-fast line at Mulund station, stopping at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sion, before being re-routed to the up slow line at Matunga. The trains will arrive 15 minutes late.
Due to the mega block, all up harbour line services leaving Panvel for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) from 10:33 am to 3:49 pm and all down harbour line services departing CSMT for Panvel and Belapur from 9:45 am to 3:12 pm will be cancelled. Additionally, all up trans harbour line services leaving Panvel from 11:02 am to 3:53 pm and all down trans harbour line services departing Panvel from 10.01 am to 3.20 pm will be cancelled.
On Sunday, the western railways will operate a jumbo block of five hours on the western line to perform track, signalling and overhead equipment maintenance. According to their announcement, all train services on the Churchgate-Mumbai Central route will be interrupted from 10:35 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.
