Haridwar: A young woman who was pressuring for marriage was strangled to death by her lover in a horrifying case from Uttarakhand’s Haridwar. The accused lover has been apprehended by Sidkul police. The girl’s brother filed a murder complaint against the alleged lover in this case. The police have opened an investigation and have submitted the body for a post-mortem examination.
According to the information gathered, on Tuesday afternoon, a resident of Nehru Colony in the Sidkul area alerted the police that a young woman was found dead in the room of a youth living here on rent.
When SP City Swatantra Kumar Singh, CO Sadar Bahadur Singh Chauhan, and Inspector in-charge Pramod Uniyal received the information, they went to the scene.
According to the early police inquiry, the dead was identified as Sarita Singh, a resident of Bairagi Camp Kankhal.
The landlord informed the police that the deceased was having an affair with a youth and that she visited his room on a daily basis.
When the landlord found her scooty parked outside the house in the morning, he peeked inside the room with suspicion and discovered her lifeless body lying there.
While police were looking for the accused youth Amit, son of Gyan Singh, he arrived at the scene. During interrogation, the young man admitted to having an affair with the girl for seven months and that she was pressuring him to marry her, but he did not want to.
When she arrived in the room on Tuesday morning, they were arguing about marriage. He strangled her to death with her dupatta in rage.
The relatives of the deceased arrived at the scene after being alerted by the police. The culprit has been charged with murder, according to City Superintendent of Police Swatantra Kumar Singh.
The dupatta that was used in the murder has also been found. The deceased’s scooty, bag, and tiffin have also been discovered.
