Pune: A container truck driving on the wrong side of the road rammed into a car leaving five members of the family dead in the accident. The incident occurred on the Ahmednagar-Pune Highway in Pune early on Wednesday.

The news agency PTI quoted Abhinav Deshmukh, Superintendent of Police, Pune saying that, “The accident took place at 1.30 am, after a car collided with a container that was coming from the wrong side.”

The road accident took place near Ranjangaon Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

Soon after the incident took place, the driver abandoned the truck and and absconded.
