New Delhi: A priest of Kabir Math has been accused of rape in Lucknow. He was accused of rape on the pretext of providing job.
Called the victim on the pretext of giving job
The incident occurred in the capital of Uttar Pradesh. According to the victim, the priest had called her to the ashram on the pretext of giving a job and then raped her. Police has registered a case against the priest. Further investigation is underway in the matter.
Priest allegedly committed rape
The victim in the incident has levelled serious allegations against the accused priest. The victim has claimed that the rape was committed within the Ashram. The priest has been identified as Baba Shanti Das of Kabir Math.
Case registered under multiple sections of IPC
A case of rape has been registered against Shanti Das of the Kabir Math. The case has been registered in the Madeganj Police Station of Lucknow. Das has been booked under sections 376, 323, 342, 504, and 506 of the IPC.
According to ACP IP Singh, a complaint was received against Baba Shanti Das. The complaint alleged that the priest had sexually assaulted the victim on the pretext of giving job.
The incident had occurred on July 9 following which the victim filed a case against the priest. The investigation in the matter is currently underway.
