New Delhi: After Atishi announces that the Delhi Kejriwal government will stop subsidising electricity bills from tomorrow, after a few hours on Friday evening, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena cleared the ruling Aam Aadmi Party's electricity subsidy scheme.
The minister's comment follows her claims that the Delhi LG wants to end the city's electricity subsidy.
Earlier Atishi said, "From today, subsidies for electricity given to the people of Delhi will be stopped. This means from tomorrow, the subsidised bills will not be given. This subsidy is stopped because the AAP govt has taken the decision to continue subsidy for the coming year, but that file is with Delhi LG and till the file doesn't come back, the AAP govt cannot release the subsidised bill."
She added, "It is deeply disappointing that despite the urgency of the issue, I have not gotten time."
She tweeted a photo of a letter and said that she had submitted it to Saxena's office, blaming the LG for the delay despite the AAP government having granted subsidies for another year.

Saxena's office replied to Power Minister, "(The) Power Minister is advised to refrain from unnecessary politicking and baseless, false allegations against (the) LG. She should stop misleading people with false statements... what is the need for a drama on April 13 by writing a letter and (holding) the press conference today?”
The AAP administration provides subsidised electricity to consumers; it is free of up to 200 units of power, and those consuming between 201 and 400 receive a 50% subsidy up to 850. Those who consume more than 400 will be charged at the standard rate.
