New Delhi: Police personnel who went to investigate a cattle theft in the Khirwa vilage of Sardhana area in Meerut had to face an attack. People got furious when the police caught the youth and were trying to procure the camera’s DVR.

On being confronted with sticks by the police, people started throwing stones at them. The vehicles of the police were damages in the entire process. The police personnel had to run away in order to save themselves. The local police refused to provide information in the matter.

The Gautam Budh Nagar police reached the Khirwa village acting on a complaint of cattle theft. They were accompanied by several vehicles and also people in civil dress. They reached and took a youth into custody. They also took the DVR of CCTV installed in dairy. The people of the village got angry regarding this. People started protesting against the taking of DVR and created a ruckus.

It is also being alleged that the police used force and hurled sticks. The police personnel had to flee from the spot to save their lives. The vehicles of the police also underwent damage in the process. It is being told that the police let arrested youth free on the Sardhana Ganganahar bridge.

They took the DVR and left from there. On the other hand, the local people complained about the incident by the police to the Sardhana police. Meanwhile, Sardhana police has denied the arrival of any other police outfit. After investigating the complaint of the villagers, Sardhana police has assured them of appropriate action.

Police also came two days ago 

According to the villagers, two days ago, the Gautam Budh Nagar police had come to the village. Two youths were taken into custody by the police. The villagers told both the youths were innocent. The police released them after interrogation an left. However, on Thursday, police arrived suddenly in several vehicles.

Sardhana police station in-charge Jitendra Kumar told that there is no influx of Gautam Budh Nagar police in our police station. The police raided the village directly. It is not known what happened to them. The villagers have accused the police of assault. The matter is being investigated.
