Samastipur: Fearless miscreants shot two undertrial prisoners Prabhat Chowdhary and Prabhat Tiwari, who were brought for a hearing in Bihar’s Samastipur Civil Court premises. Both the prisoners were admitted to hospital. The miscreants fled from the spot. 

According to police, prisoner Prabhat Chowdhary was shot in the thigh while another one sustained a bullet injury in his hand. Following the incident, the policemen accompanying the prisoner hurriedly admitted both of them to Sadar Hospital for treatment. 

Getting the information, the DIU team and teams from Nagar and Mufassil police station reached the spot. DSP Amit Kumar and SP Vinay Tiwari reached the spot later.

4 miscreants were there

According to the information, both prisoners were arrested in the liquor trafficking case. They both were brought to court, meanwhile, reportedly 4 miscreants opened fire on Prabhat Chowdhary on the court premises. 

SIT was formed to probe the matter

SP Vinay Tiwari said that a few days back a notorious liquor mafia Prabhat Chowdhary was arrested with the help of STF and sent to jail. The 4 miscreants targeted Prabhat Chowdhary and fired. A SITE has been formed under  Sadar DSP.
