New Delhi: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announces that now passengers can carry two sealed bottles of alcohol while travelling by Delhi metro. Meanwhile, drinking alcohol inside the metro is still prohibited.

DMRC said, “However, subsequently, a committee comprising officials from the CISF and DMRC have reviewed the list and as per the revised list, two sealed bottles of alcohol per person is allowed to be carried on the Delhi Metro at par with the provisions on the Airport Express Line.”

This decision was made after a committee comprised of officials from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and DMRC reviewed a previous order that forbade bringing alcohol in trains except on the Airport Express Line.

A Twitter user asked officials if he could carry alcohol on the Blue Line, which connects Dwarka Sector 21 and Noida Electronic City. DMRC answered. “Yes, two sealed bottles of alcohol are permitted in the Delhi Metro.” If a passenger is found acting inappropriately while intoxicated, officials have stated that necessary legal action will be taken against them.
