Balasore (Odisha): The police has arrested a man who allegedly threatened Basta MLA Nityananda Sahoo of murder over phone call.

Media reports claimed that Sahoo received a call on September 13 when the miscreant told him that the latter has been told till the legislator by three people.

Following which, the cyber cell of the Balasore police initiated the investigation and arrested Sk Mujamil from the Mangalpur area.

The police charged Mujamil under various Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections.

During the investigation, the police found that the suspect was a habitual offender. In the past, the accused have created the same chaos by threatening another MLA.

The accused used to randomly download phone numbers and images of MLAs from internet to extort them.
