Noida: The beautification work started at the Noida entrance opposite Sector-14A. The authority had sought permission from the traffic police to close one lane from Noida towards Delhi for about 20 days. The police refused to give permission, citing a long traffic jam. The traffic police have given instructions that work should be done in the middle of the entrance at night or in the afternoon. No continuous lane closure shall be permitted. He said that shuttering can be allowed only on Sundays.
For the beautification of the Noida entrance on the Chilla border, the concerned company is currently working on the side pillars and upper part of the divider. To speed up the work, the Noida Authority and the company sought permission to block one lane for shuttering in a five-foot stretch. After receiving the letter from the authority, DCP Traffic Anil Kumar Yadav visited the spot and saw the situation. The DCP said that no permission would be given to close the lane for shuttering. The company will have to work through the crane during non-peak hours at night or in the afternoon. By installing shutters permanently for a few days, there will be a problem with jams here.
Noida Authority officials said that the structure of the entrance will remain the same, but there will be a change in the design to make it more attractive. Along with this, the colour will also change. The design authority for the renovation of the gate was Orion Architect. Now the company selected in the tender has started the work. Authority officials said that the work of giving a new look to the entrance would be done at a cost of Rs 86 lakh, 22 thousand. The company has been given time until July 18, 2023, to complete the work.
