A shocking incident of rape with a three-year-old student has come to light from Noida. TOI reported that a housekeeping staff was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl on premises of a private school in Noida last week. According to the police, the accused identified as resident of Nithari village in Noida, had taken out the girl to a place that was out of the school’s CCTV coverage and assaulted her. He was hired on a contractual basis, a few months ago. The incident took place on October 9, reported TOI.
What Did Police Say?
Police informed that her parents had taken the girl to the doctor after they noticed she was quiet and complained of pain in lower abdomen on being asked.
Her parents filed complaint with Sector 20 police station on 10 October, where they mentioned that the doctor who examined the girl alerted them about injuries in her private parts and possible molestation by forceful insertion. The three-year-old girl later told her parents that a man who handed out plates in her school had ‘pricked’ her private parts and caused pain. Her parents further added that their daughter had refused to go to school after the incident.
DCP Noida, Ram Badan Singh told TOI that the accused worked in housekeeping department of the school and has been booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) section 65 (2) and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The police arrested him on 10 October and said that the school administration will also be questioned.
What Did School Say?
An official statement has been released by the school regarding the matter, the school said, “Considering the kind of security and systems that are in place at the school, the incident in question is unlikely. No evidence has been found in the CCTV ARC footage examined by the police so far.” The school has extended support to the parents and the police. Further investigation is underway by the police.
