Noida: The Gautam Budh Nagar police have geared up to maintain peace and order in Moharram. Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh held a virtual meeting with other officers and all the station in-charges and gave necessary instructions regarding security, peace, and order.

She said that the law and order situation in the district should not deteriorate at any cost during the upcoming Muharram festival. For this reason, all officers should take all precautionary steps for peace and harmony. He also directed that the police officers and police station in-charges hold peace committee meetings with religious leaders and eminent persons in their respective areas.

She added that sensitive matters should be resolved completely by bringing them to the attention of higher officials. Permission should be given according to the tradition of traditional Muharram processions in the past. The in charge of the concerned station should physically inspect the routes of the procession and, by establishing coordination with the officials of the concerned department, be instructed to complete the festivals efficiently.
