Noida: NMRC officials said that a skywalk is being built to reduce the distance. The information, along with its project details, has been sent to the ministry. This skywalk will be ready by the end of the year. The skywalk will be 430 metres long and 6 metres wide. After the skywalk is built, people will not have to get up and down, again and again, to travel between the two stations. The cost of civil work for its construction is about Rs 9 crore. This skywalk is being built on the same route where the path is being built and e-rickshaws are plying.
Noida Sector-52 Metro Station is nothing less than a lifeline for Noida, Greater Noida, and Noida Extension. Commuters are facing problems due to the distance between the Sector-52 Metro Station of the Blue Line and the Sector-51 Metro Station of the Aqua Line. To solve this, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation surveyed in collaboration with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. The report states that there is no space, and the alignment is also not visible. So, there is no vacancy on the spot to build a new station.
At present, people have to face a lot of trouble getting down from Sector-52 metro station and going to 51 stations. Walk down the stairs, then walk some distance and take the Aqua Metro. To go from Greater Noida to Delhi, many people have started using other means instead of the Metro. While the passengers on the NMRC line from Sector-51 to Greater Noida are fewer. About 45,000 passengers come and go at Sector-52 Metro station every day, while there are 17,000 people at Sector-51 Metro station. This is happening due to a lack of good connectivity between the two metro stations.
