Noida: The Noida Metro is going to introduce a new feature to make passenger journeys more convenient. Passengers face many problems getting metro tokens and recharging the smart card again and again. To overcome this hassle and make payments easier for commuters, Noida Metro will soon be able to make payments through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). Preparations are being made for this at all 21 metro stations on this line.
This facility will get started after getting the green signal from the Managing Director of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation. This scheme is being introduced as part of the initiative to provide different payment options for the convenience of passengers travelling by Metro. Although the token system is already closed in the Aqua Line Metro. After paying the fare, a slip is received, and on the basis of the QR code entered, the automatic fare collection gates of the station are opened.
Many times, passengers do not have cash or face difficulties getting tickets due to a lack of change. Keeping in view the problems faced by commuters, NMRC has decided to introduce the facility of paying fares through UPI. For this, the ticket option has to be selected in the ticket vending machine installed at all the stations. The chart for the station will open up. In this case, the passenger has to choose the destination station. After this, the ticket number has to be filled out. Finally, the payment option will come. If the passenger wants to opt for UPI, he can make the payment by scanning through the UPI app. Immediately after this, the ticket will come out of the machine.
