Noida: Due to the unprecedented rise in the water level of the Hindon River triggered by the incessant rainfall, the area near Ecotech 3 got submerged due to which many vehicles got stuck.
Floodwaters are currently engulfing various illegal structures in Noida and Greater Noida, as well as along both banks of the river. Numerous illegally established colonies have been infiltrated by water. One such example is in Sector 142, Noida, where an illegal parking lot was set up along the Khadar of the Hindon River and is now completely inundated, submerging hundreds of parked cars.

Additionally, the submergence area next to Hindon has affected several villages, including Sutyana, Kulesara, and Shahdara. The police have advised residents to evacuate their homes and seek safer surroundings.
The situation is being exacerbated by the continuous release of water from the Haranandi Kali River. Currently, the water level at Hindon has risen to 200.65 meters, approaching the danger mark of 205.80 meters downstream at the Ghaziabad barrage. Normally, 6 to 7 thousand cusecs of water are released daily from Hindon, but the current release stands at 15,307 cusecs, leading to a rise in the water level of the Gautam Budh River as well.
All the Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) have been informed about the situation, and they are actively working to alleviate the flooding in the affected areas. The situation has also raised concerns about the increasing water level of the Yamuna River in Delhi.
