Noida: The Gautam Buddha Nagar administration on Thursday ordered closure of schools for nursery to Class 8th Students until further notice. The decision was taken amid severe cold conditions prevailing over Uttar Pradesh. The order by the district administration will be applicable to all schools in Noida government or private. The order is in effect from January 2.
Notably, the government schools in Noida have winter vacations till January 15, while some private schools have already reopened. Some schools are expected to begin classes on Monday.
The official notification from the district education officer Rahul Panwar, read, “In compliance with the directives issued by the District Magistrate, Gautam Buddh Nagar, and considering the dense fog and extreme cold, all schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar district (affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, IB, UP Board, and others) recognised for classes Nursery to 8 will remain closed until further notice, effective immediately. Strict adherence to this order is required.”
However, students of class 9 to 12 will return to schools after the winter vacation as per schedule.
The administration has asked the schools to follow the official notification strictly. The order is applicable to all the schools affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, IB, UP Board, and others.
When Will School Reopen?
As per the order, schools will remain closed until further notice.
IMD On UP Weather
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted cold day particularly in states like Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh. It has predicted fog and mist from January 3 to 6 in Noida, while light rain is expected to lash Delhi NCR region on January 6. A dense layer of fog engulfed parts of Uttar Pradesh on Friday amid cold wave conditions.
