New Delhi: While dismissing speculations over his candidature of Prime Minister, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Monday said he has “no aspiration.”

Said the Chief Minister in Delhi: “If the opposition will get united, then a good atmosphere will be created. I have no desire and no aspiration (to become prime minister).”

The purpose of the CM’s visit is to unite the Opposition parties to fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party. His visit aims at bringing the Opposition closer so it can make collective efforts to defeat Narendra Modi-led Centre in 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

It should be noted that CM Kumar is visiting Delhi for the first time after he broke his allegiance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state.

In 2020, Kumar became the Chief Minister with the support of BJP. However, he decided to part ways with the saffron part a month ago when he tendered his resignation to the governor.

Afterwards, he joined hands with the Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Congress and other parties to form a ‘Mahagathbandhan’ government. Following which, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav became Deputy Chief Minister.
