The rush on Friday led many to return after enduring lengthy waits at the entry gates, one visitor told TOI.
Manjunath attributed the increased allure of the hills to misty and foggy weather conditions combined with a drop in temperatures.
Enthusiastic travelers are arriving as early as 2 am to witness the mesmerizing sunrise from the hill’s summit. Additionally, others are making their way later in the day to catch the breathtaking sunset, he mentioned.
The hill station staff express astonishment at the unprecedented year-end rush. On Friday alone, more than 4,600 two-wheelers, 3,600 four-wheelers, and 60 buses, including 30 from KSRTC transporting schoolchildren, arrived at Nandi Hills, as per Manjunath.
Nandi Hills – Visitor Ban:
To maintain law and order during New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Chikkaballapur district administration has enforced a ban on entry to the hills from the evening of December 31 until early January 1. All bookings for that day stand cancelled, and visitors won’t be permitted to stay overnight on December 31.
