New Delhi: Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has announced new rates on electricity consumption for the state. The announcement includes slashing of rates for domestic, poor and NPCL consumers. The decision was take in the meeting of the Electricity Regulatory Commission. The information was given by the State Electricity Consumer Council President Awadhesh Verma.
Relief to domestic consumers
Earlier, the rate for domestic consumers of electricity was Rs 7.00 per unit. The Uttar Pradesh government has slashed the rate by 70 paise per unit. The domestic consumers will now be paying Rs 6.30 for every unit.
Relief to poor consumers
Earlier, the rate for poor consumers of electricity was Rs 3.35 per unit. The Uttar Pradesh government has slashed the rate by 35 paise per unit. The consumers who fall in the poor category based on electricity consumption will now be paying Rs 3.00 for every unit.
Earlier Rs 3.35 per unit was to be paid, now Rs 3 will have to be given per unit if electricity is used within 100 units.
NPCL electricity rates reduced by 10%
The rates of electricity which comes under Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) has slashed the rates by 10 per cent.
