New Delhi: The Police have apprehended four railway employees on Friday in connection with an alleged gang rape of a 30-year-old woman in a room at New Delhi railway station.
The police confirmed that the four accused are the employees of Railways’ Electrical Department.
A PCR call was received at 2:27 AM in the morning where a girl was claiming that the wo men had raped her.
During the investigation, the police found that the accused raped the women inside a train lighting hut intended for electrical maintenance staff at New Delhi railway station’s platforms 8-9.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways) Harendra Kumar Singh, the victim who is a resident of Faridabad, met one of the accused through a common friend about two years ago.
The accused told the victim that he is a railway employee who can help her to get a job.
On Thursday, the accused asked woman under the guise of his son’s birthday. She arrived at Kirti Nagar metro station, where the accused allegedly took the woman inside the railway station’s hut and sexually assaulted her in a room. Two more suspects stood guard outside the room.
