Mumbai: The development of NMM lines 2, 3, and 4 has been approved by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), which is the project nodal agency, using the modified mode of transport MetroNeo instead of standard gauge Metro. Once the final legislative clearance from the Commission of Railway Safety (CMRS) is obtained, the metro agency plans to operate Line 1. The Navi Mumbai Metro Line 2 will comprise six elevated stations that would connect MIDC Taloja to Khandeshwar (7.12 kilometres). Line 3 would run through three elevated stations from Pendhar to MIDC Taloja (3.87 kilometres), while Line 4 would run from Navi Mumbai International Airport to Panvel (4.17 kilometres). About the Metro Neo system

The Neo-Metro is a rubber-tyred overhead traction trolley bus system. The buses will be air-conditioned and will include an automated door-closing system, level boarding, comfortable seats, a passenger announcement system, and an information system with an electronic display. It is a smooth, rapid, dependable, and cost-effective Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS) that requires fewer system requirements than a standard Metro rail system. When line 1 is operational, CIDCO plans to begin construction on the three remaining lines 2, 3, and 4, with the goal of completing the Neo Metro in the next two years.
