Mumbai: Apple’s first-ever store in India was launched in the BKC business district, Mumbai, by chief executive Tim Cook on April 18. The store is spread over a 20,000-square-foot area. The store has 25 years of history in the country. The Mumbai store will be followed by the opening of a comparable facility in New Delhi’s Saket on April 20. According to sources, Cook will also meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Store openings for the popular brand around the world have seen admirers queue to be the first customer, and it remains to be seen how the people of Mumbai embrace the store on a working day. The two-story store which employs about half of its workforce, including its leadership, is located at the corner of a vast mall that also includes labels such as Diesel, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and Swarovski.
Customers will be able to check out the products and educate themselves on how to use them efficiently, according to executives.
The stores are claimed to be the company’s most sustainable outlets to yet. Apple BKC will include approximately 100 team members who speak over 20 languages, including local Indian dialects.
