Pune Shocker: Fake Delivery Agent Rapes Woman At Home, Leaves Selfie And Threatening Note – ‘I’ll Be Back’

The deeply disturbing event has sent shockwaves across the community. Charges of rape, house trespass, and criminal intimidation under different sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) have been indicted against the accused. A probe is underway to track him down with the help of the selfie he left on the victim's phone.

Pune: In a shocking incident that unfolded in Pune, a 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped in her apartment by an unidentified man. According to reports, the intruder broke into the victim’s upscale residential society by posing as a courier delivery agent. Police stated on Thursday that the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on July 2nd.

Accused Leaves A Threatening Message And Selfie

The deeply disturbing event has sent shockwaves across the community. Reports added that the accused sexually assaulted her at knifepoint in her high-end housing complex. Before fleeing, he took a selfie and left a threatening message on her phone, in which he mentioned, ‘I’ll be back.’ On Pune rape case, Maharashtra Minister Yogesh Kadam on Thursday told media, “We have recovered some CCTV footage. Work is being done to recover the CCTV footage from outside the society. The guilty person will be caught soon and punished.”

Probe Underway

Charges of rape, house trespass, and criminal intimidation under different sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) have been indicted against the accused. A probe is underway to track him down with the help of the selfie he left on the victim’s phone. Additionally, authorities are investigating whether the man had used a substance to make her unconscious. Meanwhile, the police are reviewing the CCTV footage to identify the suspect.

Reports added that the victim’s condition is critical and she is undergoing treatment. Notably, the incident has raised serious concerns regarding the safety of residents within the gated community.
