Nashik: In a harrowing incident on Wednesday, a bus in Nashik veered off the road and plunged into a gorge while traveling uphill on Wednesday. The unfortunate mishap occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid off the road and leading to a major accident. At least 18 individuals were injured in the incident, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.
What actually happened?
A state transport bus operated by the State Transport Corporation met with an accident near Saputara Hill in Nashik. The bus skidded off the road due to overspeeding but got stuck in the bushes as it descended into the valley.
During the incident, a woman lost her life, while 16 others sustained injuries. Six of them are in critical condition. The critically injured individuals have been referred to the City Hospital for further treatment.
The accident occurred at around 7:30 am in the morning. The bus had a total of 22 passengers on board including the conductor and the driver.
Local residents and the administration promptly initiated relief and rescue operations at the site. The Superintendent of Police and State Minister Dada Bhuse were also present at the accident spot.
