Mumbai Braces for Heavy Rain! IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Thunderstorms Across Maharashtra; Check Forecast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Coastal Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala and Mahe on Friday.

Mumbai Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert as a depression over the Southeast Arabian Sea has intensified. This development is expected to bring heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms to the west coast and Southern India. Maharashtra, in particular, is forecasted to receive intense rainfall on Thursday and for the next three days until October 26.

Moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely many parts of South Madhya Maharashtra. Light to moderate rain with thundershowers is expected at several places North Madhya Maharashtra. The city and suburbs can expect partly cloudy skies with possible thunderstorms, moderate rainfall, and gusty winds by evening or night. Temperatures will range between a high of 36°C and a low of 25°C.

A yellow alert for thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds (30- 40kmph) has been issued for several districts.

Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nasik, Ahilyanagar, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sholapur, Ch. Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, Dharashiv are placed under a yellow alert of heavy rainfall until Friday, October 26. Residents in these districts are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions amid extreme weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe on Friday. Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana are expected to receive heavy shower. Delhi is likely to experience mist and haze during mornings over the next five days. There has been a noticeable drop in minimum temperatures by 2-4°C, while maximum temperatures remained largely unchanged in the past 24 hours in the national capital.
