Mumbai Receives Bomb Threat; Drunk Caller Nabbed From Borivali

Police investigators identified the caller through their search resulting in his arrest in Borivali.

Panic erupted in the Mumbai Police Department after they received a phone call and the caller informed them that bomb explosions would take place all over the city. The caller, who claimed to be a member of the infamous D-Company, said that massive acts of violence were being planned all over Mumbai. However, following investigation, police found the call to be a hoax that was made by a drunk man.

The Mumbai Crime Branch, in collaboration with Borivali Police, initiated an investigation and tracked the call to Suraj Jadhav, who was arrested immediately in Borivali. Officials have established that Jadhav is a habitual hoax caller with a past record of placing several spurious and disturbing calls to police stations throughout the city.

His recent stunt evoked a stern response from authorities, considering the severity of his threats. According to police, Jadhav has formed a pattern of making hoax calls.

Cases are already registered against Jadhav under sections 323 and 324 of IPC. He has been charged with making similar fake calls, bomb threats, and noise issues related to loudspeakers and firecrackers, including false information provided in several cases. During his investigation, all these reports were found to be baseless.
