Mumbai: Navi Mumbai Police reportedly arrested 18 Bangladeshi nationals from Maharashtra Thane district after they were found staying illegally in the country, a Police official said on Saturday.

As per Police sources, The Navi Mumbai police arrested 18 Bangladeshi nationals, including 10 women during the intervening night of March 1 and 2.

“The Police had received a tip that some Bangladeshi nationals will gather to Celebrate the marriage anniversary of one of them at a building in the Ghansoli area of Navi Mumbai. Acting on it, A team of crime branch raided the premises at night,” A Police officer said.

Ten women and eight men were arrested by the Navi Mumbai crime branch team during the operation. They have been living in the locality for the last year without any valid documents (Passport and Visa).
