A shocking incident was reported from Mumbai, where a 41-year-old man died after having sex with a minor girl in a hotel. The man has been identified as manager of a diamond factory in Gujarat, who had come to Mumbai this week. The incident took place on November 2 in a hotel at Mumbai’s Grant Road Area. The deceased has been accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl, who worked in the same factory.

What Caused His Death?

According to police, the accused had taken sexual enhancement supplement on Saturday evening and collapsed while sexually assaulting the girl. The girl then called the hostel staff and man was rushed to hospital. He was declared dead during the treatment, stated the police. “He had brought the girl with him from Gujarat. The incident took place on Saturday. The hotel staff rushed him to a hospital where he died some time later. Prima facie, it seems he suffered a heart attack,” added the official as per PTI report.

Reportedly, the manager had been financially supporting the girl’s family, which included her mother, father and an unemployed brother. Police revealed that the manager had threatened to stop financial aid, blackmailed and took the girl along with him to Mumbai where he sexually assaulted her. An officer told that the girl’s family shared good relations with manager as he often visited her house to check on her bedridden father. He even helped them financially, stated the police officer.

He added that the girl had started working in factory under pressure from her mother. The family even allowed her to go out with the manager. As per reports, the manager had visited girl’s house on October 29, and asked her parents that if he could take their daughter with him to Mumbai. He picked up the girl on Saturday and left for Mumbai. Police informed that the accused had called the girl as his daughter and presented a fake Aadhaar Card while checking-in at hotel.

The Indian Express quoted police officer who said, “We have learnt that the manager had started sexually exploiting her in the factory by threatening to stop the financial help. He would threaten to stop helping her family and force them to return the money if she told anyone about the incident.”

Police informed girl’s family, and her statement was recorded on Sunday. Police have registered case under relevant sections of BNS and POCSO.
