A 17-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after being assaulted with a brick by a 19-year-old man on a busy street in Kandivali West on Saturday, following her rejection of his romantic proposal. She is currently receiving treatment at Shatabdi Hospital.
The incident took place in Sanjay Nagar when the girl was roaming with a friend. The accused was known to the girl, who chased her, allegedly assaulted her, and later hit her with a brick. The accused smashed her phone before leaving the scene.

The police have registered a complaint under sections 78, 118, 115, 352, and 324 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita with the POSCO Act. The search operation is going on by the police to find the accused, as reported by the Free Press Journal.
