New Delhi: In a henious crime, a 33-year-old rickshaw driver was arrested Wednesday for allegedly killing a 17-year-old, his wife’s “muh-bola bhai”, and cutting the body into five pieces.
Shafique Ahmed Sheikh, the accused, allegedly killed the young man because the latter used to pass comments on the Sheikh’s wife and sister, said the police official. The victim’s behaviour angered Shafique.
As per the police official, the victim’s body was found in the kitchen of the Sheikh’s two-room apartment in MHADA locality in the RCF area, on the outskirts of Chembur. Following the accused was arrested.
Brother But Not By Blood
According to the head of the RCF police station, Ishwar Awhad, the victim had known the Sheikh’s wife’s family for a long time. During the probe, it was revealed that Sheikh’s wife and sister, the official said, treated Awhad like their own brother, even though they were not related by blood.
The official said Sheikh often objected to Awhad’s comments about his wife and sister-in-law and appeared to be furious that Awhad continued to do so. On the day of incident, Monday, the accused took his teen brother-in-law to his apartment where the crime took place.
Stabbed And Chopped
As per the information, Sheikh stabbed the teenager to death and then chopped-off his body parts.
However, the incident came into light when Sheikh’s stepfather noticed that his son, Aehad, was missing and went to the police to file a complaint. Following that, the police starte the investigation and investigated everyone close to the victim.
The police reached to Sheikh too as he was the one who was last seen with the victim who confessed to the murder, reported media portals.
The official added that he was being held under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (loss of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code and further investigation is underway.
