Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde changed his profile picture across all social media platforms with a photo of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar as a gesture of appose against Rahul Gandhi’s remark.
After being disqualified from Lok Sabha, In a press conference, Rahul Gandhi said, “My Name is Gandhi, not Savarkar, won’t apologize”. This remark by Rahul Gandhi initiated a heated debate between BJP and Congress.
Earlier today, while speaking to media persons, Eknath Shinde also announced to hold of a ‘Savarkar Gaurav Yatra’ in Maharashtra.

“I condemn Rahul’s remarks on Veer Savarkar Jii. He played a big role in the freedom struggle of India. Due to the contribution of such heroes, India achieved independence. We will hold a ‘Savarkar Gaurav Yatra’ in the state,” said Eknath Shinde.
The congress and BJP have engaged in a mouth war against each other after Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Savarkar.
