An IndiGo flight operating from Jeddah to Hyderabad received a security threat on Saturday, after which it was diverted to Mumbai. Following standard protocol, the airline immediately informed the relevant authorities and fully cooperated with security checks before the flight was cleared to continue its journey. Passengers were provided with refreshments and regular updates to minimise inconvenience. “Safety and security of our customers, crew, and aircraft are our topmost priorities,” said an IndiGo spokesperson.
What went wrong?
The flight was diverted mid-air to Mumbai after receiving a security threat. IndiGo has not commented on the nature of the security threat.IndiGo spokesperson told ANI, "A security threat was received for IndiGo flight 6E 68 operating from Jeddah to Hyderabad on 1st November 2025. The aircraft was diverted to Mumbai. Following the established protocol, we informed the relevant authorities immediately and fully cooperated with them in carrying out the necessary security checks before the aircraft was cleared for further operations. We made every effort to minimise inconvenience to our customers, including offering them refreshments and sharing regular updates. Safety and security of our customers, crew and aircraft are our topmost priorities."
