Mumbai: Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant on Friday claimed 13 MLAs from the Uddhav Thackeray Shiv Sena faction and 20 from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are in touch with the Shiv Sena (Chief Minister Eknath Shinde faction).
Samant also claimed that Uddhav Thackeray also had a secret meeting with CM Shinde in Mahabaleshwar. He said that there is a lot of instability in the politics of Maharashtra right now.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader and MLC Ambadas Danve said that our party is focusing on winning at least 100 seats in the 2024 assembly elections in the state.
Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Danve said that our plan is to find right candidates who can win. We would give priority to those candidates who stood second from the party in the 2019 assembly elections. 2019 assembly elections were fought by the undivided Shiv Sena in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party, which got more than 100 seats.

The BJP and the Shiv Sena together got more than 150 seats in the 288-member house. However, the Shiv Sena split in June last year following Eknath Shinde’s rebellion, following which Uddhav Thackeray’s Maha Vikas Aghadi government fell.
Danve claimed that the Eknath Shinde government is in a precarious position as the Shiv Sena’s support base lies with Uddhav Thackeray. While talking about speculations about Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar and his closeness with BJP, Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC said without taking any name that any ruling party (BJP) would try to break other parties. Will not do if the position is stable. “There is such a situation that Eknath Shinde may have to resign from the post of chief minister,” Danve claimed.
