Maharashtra: A two-story building collapsed in Wardhman Compound, Thane district's Bhiwandi, on Saturday afternoon. Three people were killed, including a minor girl, and 11 were injured. The girl was identified as Sona Mukesh Kori.
Several people are still trapped beneath the debris, and the exact number is unknown. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his sympathies and gave Rs 5 lakh compensation to the deceased's families. The disaster response personnel rescued a guy from the Bhiwandi building collapse site on Sunday after he had been trapped under debris for more than 18 hours. The man, identified as Sunil Pisa, was rescued from the debris by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Target Disaster Response Force (TDRF) at 8 a.m. on Sunday and brought to the IGM Hospital in Bhiwandi, according to PTI.
On Saturday, the Chief Minister paid a visit to the victims at Indira Gandhi Hospital and directed that medical treatment be provided at government expense.
