New Delhi: A deaf and mute 16-year-old girl was raped in an institute for specially abled children where she was living for around four years and got 6-months pregnant. The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore.
The incident came into light when the victim’s mother went to visit her after a long time on a call from from the institute after the young girl complained of abdominal pain. After a test, it was revealed that the girl was pregnant.
After that, the mother took the victim immideately to the Vijay Nagar Police station to file a complaint.

As per media report, the victim is also “mentally unstable.” Her statement was recorded with the help of a sign-language expert but the victim could not give clear details on the matter. She will be interrogated again with new methods.
The police has launched an investigation in the matter but it is yet find out when the girl was assaulted sexually and where. A case has been registered under relevant IPC sections and POCSO Act.
The victim’s mother that she fell ill about 6 months ago when she was admitted to hospital in a weak condition. However, she returned to the institute after she was recovered.
