Bhopal: Kaliasot Bridge on Bhopal-Raisen Road could not sustain the heavy lashes of first rain as it collapsed on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. The bridge is severely damaged while certain blocks are still intact.

The bridge was built almost a year ago on the NH-46 (Previously NH-7) which costed around Rs 529 crores.

Following the collapse on the bridge, authorities have to divert the traffic to avoid any mis-happening.

As per the reports, 13 gates were opened of Kaliasot dam on July 24 after which the bridge could not bear the water flow.

As per a report of the Free Press Journal, the bridge is under guarantee period and the concerned contractor will be entitled to repair the road.
