The victim, a resident of the CB Ganj area of Bareilly, told police that he takes care of the family by driving a tempo. Some time ago he sold his tempo and kept his 27 thousand rupees in the house, but the wife ran away with that deposit as well. The victim told police that his wife’s lover, Javed, sets up a fruit stall in Shyamganj. The wife eloped with him about 25 days ago.
The victim said that his wife had sent him to jail on charges of theft at the same time he learned about her affair. There was never any change in his behaviour.
