Meerut: A 50-year-old retired Army personnel, allegedly plotted the the killing of his 27-year-old son through a contract killer as an act of revenge against his estranged wife. The tragic incident unfolded in Chhur village located in the Sardhana region of Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, as reported by the local police.
The accused, identified as Sanjeev Kumar, conspired with a local individual named Amit (30) and reportedly paid him Rs 5 lakh to carry out the sinister deed of killing his son, Sachin Kumar.
Ramakant Pachori, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sardhana police station, stated, “Sachin had gone missing since Tuesday night, and his mother officially reported his disappearance on Saturday. In her complaint, she expressed suspicions about her husband’s involvement in their son’s missing. Following this lead, the police took both Sanjeev and Amit into custody for questioning. Subsequently, both individuals confessed to their involvement in the crime. Sanjeev alleged that his motivation was to seek retribution against his estranged wife. Currently, both the accused are in police custody.”
A local resident who was informed about the case shared, “Sanjeev had engaged in an affair with his sister-in-law and started living with her, which led to his wife, Munesh, leaving him around 15 years ago. Since then, she has been living separately with her son, Sachin, who was unmarried and the sole earner for the family. Sachin worked as a delivery boy.”
To carry out the heinous act against Sachin, Amit reportedly offered him alcohol on Tuesday. After Sachin became intoxicated, Amit allegedly struck him on the head with a bottle, causing him to lose consciousness. The SHO added, “Taking advantage of Sachin’s unconscious state, Amit proceeded to strangle him using a scarf.”
