Mount Abu: While speaking at the inaugural session of a media conference, Professor Sanjay Dwivedi, Director General of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi, emphasised the importance of media following the path of truth and firmly exposing social evils.
The conference is organised by the Media Wing of Prajapita Brahmakumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya with assistance from the RERF every four years at Gyan Sarovar Mount Abu.
Prof Sanjay Dwivedi said that the principles of journalism in the pre-Independence era must be kept in mind while we carry out our responsibilities in the development of the nation.
“We should uphold our obligation to defend society’s fundamental rights by prioritising the public interest,” he continued.
Bapu Gandhi’s three precepts were given a new form by Prof. Dwivedi as he discussed the difficulties associated with the expansion of social media. He claimed that if we follow the rule of “don’t type bad, don’t like bad, and don’t share bad,” social media will naturally improve.
Simoni, who travelled from Chandigarh, did a welcome dance, followed by a Ganesh Vandana by performers from the Nrityangan Dance Academy in Kharagpur. The lamps were ignited by the dignitaries to signify the official inauguration.
