Massive fire breaks out at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital; No casualties
Mumbai: A massive fire broke out at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday night. The fire started on 12 floors and slowly spread to other floors. No casualties have been reported so far.
The flame was visible from miles away; people present in the area were evicted, and the fire department was called to the scene. The fire was brought under control around 12:30 a.m. A level 2 fire broke out in two flats on 12 floors, where two people were rescued.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Mumbai Fire Brigade earlier said, "Fire confined to two flats on the 12th floor, of fourteen floored building near Breach Candy Hospital. Two lines including one line of highrise fire fighting vehicle and 1 small hose line of motor pump are in operation."
They added, "Reportedly some people are trapped inside the building and two people have been rescued from the 12th floor through the staircase."
