Maharashtra: Amidst the relentless downpour and swollen river in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur, the Kolhapur Disaster Relief Force on Friday rescued a stranded person on a tree in the Warana River.
The incident took place in Devwadi village, and the timely response from the rescue team and local administration ensured the safe retrieval of the individual.
Kolhapur district has been battling torrential rains over the past few days, leading to a significant rise in water levels in various rivers, including the Warna and Panchganga.
Despite the challenging conditions, the rescue operation was carried out successfully, highlighting the efficiency and dedication of the disaster response team.
In another incident, the Dindos Police and fire brigade joined forces to save two boys who found themselves trapped in a drain.
A distress call was received around 3 pm, reporting that the boys had fallen into a drain near Arthav Building, New MHADA Colony of Goregaon, amidst the heavy rains.
The fast flow of water in the drain added to the urgency of the situation, prompting the swift response of the Dindoshi police officers, who immediately informed the fire brigade.
With their combined efforts and quick thinking, the fire brigade officials reached the scene promptly and utilized a rope to safely rescue both children from the perilous situation.
