New Delhi: The cruelty of a cynical father has come to the fore in Patna. The man has set his daughter and wife on fire and burnt them alive.
The incident occurred at the Pulwa street located in Chandpur Bela area which comes under the jurisdiction of Jakkanpur police station. The area is located in Patna.
In the incident, the daughter Sonam died on the spot. Whereas her mother Rooni Devi was admitted to the PMCH hospital in burnt condition. She also succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. Police has sent both the bodies for post-mortem.
Police has also informed that the man was identified as Ramnath Prasad was addicted to drugs. Almost a year ago, he had attacked his wife and daughter with a knife. Following this the police has arrested the man and sent him to jail.
According to the same people, the father used to beat his wife and daughter every day. However, the accused father Ramnath Prasad is said to be absconding at the moment. The police has started further investigating the matter. The search for the absconding father is still underway.
