Maharashtra: 35-yr-old journalist kills lover for insisting on marriage

Aurangabad: The Police have arrested a 35-year-old journalist allegedly for killing a married woman with whom he was romantically involved. The accused later hacked the body of the 24-year-old woman to erase evidence. The incident took place on August 15.

As per a report of PTI, the woman had a 3-year-old daughter. The officials suspected that the woman had a relationship with freelance reporter Saurabh Lakhe.

The official further informed that the woman had moved out of her family’s home and started living in a rental home in the Hudco neighbourhood. The accused Lakhe used to pay her visits to her home.

It is suspected that the man killed the woman as she started forcing him to get married.

The following day, he kept her head and hands in a godown at Shiur.

On Wednesday, the house owner noticed Lakhe hauling away the last of the body parts and called the police, who apprehended him as he was travelling to Shiur.

An investigation has been initiated to probe the matter.
