UP Crime: A teen rape survivor in Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad district set herself on fire allegedly after the accused forced her to marry one of the tormentors and to take back the case.
As per media reports, the victim who is mere 16-years-old attempted to die by suicide on Novemebr 4. She alleged that rapists started threatening her to kill her family members if she does not do as told.
The frustrated girl said she decided to die as she could not accept those who “played with honour” as her husband. The girl is undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital as she suffered 70 per cent of burns.
Raped in January 2021
In January 2021, the girl was abducted and raped when she was out in a field to defecate. In her complaint, the victim stated that the two men found her alone at the incident spot.
One of the accused held her hands while another grabbed her legs and then they took her to a isolated place.
Telling her plight to the police, the girl alleged that she pleaded and cried in front of the two but they did not let her go instead they took turns to rape her.
After assaulting the girl, the two fled from the incident spot, leaving her in an unconscious state. She said she remembered being raped and then waking up in the hospital.
Accused Were Out On Bail
A police official infromed that the two accused are brothers. They were in jail under charges of abetment of suicide.
The two used to torture the girl through messages and wherever they could find her. The accused were pressuring the girl to marry.
Meanwhile, they also asked her to withdraw the case. They threatened the girl to hurt her and kill her family members if she does not do as they said.
