New Delhi: A gruesome incident of gangrape has come to light from Lucknow. Here a man named Imran alias Mustafa is the main accused in the crime. He was shot in the leg. Imran is a resident of Vibhuti Khand police station area in Bahraich. He works as an auto-driver. It is alleged that he along with his friend Akash had committed the crime of gangrape with a girl.
Imran was caught following an encounter
The police personnel in Lucknow carried out an encounter. In the process, Imran was shot in the leg. Imran is accused of raping a student who was going to her home after attending her tuition. Imran was on run for past several days. Police personnel got a tip regarding Imran. Acting on the tip police surrounded Imran and he fired. Following which the police fired back and he was shot on leg.
Imran tried to escape when asked to stop
DCP Prachi Singh said, “the police had received information about Imran alias Mustafa being near Kathouta lake. Following this police personnel started stopping cars. When Imran was asked to stop he tried to escape and open fired. In the cross fire Imran was shot in leg. He was then admitted to Lohia hospital.”
Akash was arrested earlier
Imran, a resident of Nanpara Bahraich, used to drive an auto while staying in the Vibhuti Khand police station area. According to allegation, on Saturday, he along with his friend Akash had carried out the incident of gang-rape with a girl. Imran’s friend Akash, who was involved in gang-raping the student, was arrested by the police on Monday itself.
