Lucknow: In a horrific accident on the Lucknow-Gorakhpur highway late Friday night seven passengers were killed and 40 got injured due to a collision between a truck and bus. The incident took near Raghukul restaurant in the Ayodhya Kotwali area.
SSP Muniraj Ji reached the spot with the police team. He said that the injured have been taken to the hospital. Informing to media, he said the accident took place when a private bus coming from Ayodhya was taking a turn on the highway to go towards Ambedkar Nagar, suddenly a truck coming from the opposite direction hit the bus. The truck was filled with sacks of wall putty. The collision was so strong that the truck overturned and the bus got buried under it. Immediately after the accident, the district administration started the rescue operation.

Ayodhya’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Ajay Raja said that so far seven people have died in the road accident and more than 40 people are injured.

District Magistrate Nitish Kumar said that more than a dozen ambulances were deployed. The injured were taken to the district hospital and medical college. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the death of 7 people in the accident.
