Identification of both constables

According to the information, the incident took place on Wednesday in Civil Lines area of ​​Kanpur. Two constables, identified as Hemant Kumar and Lokesh Rajput, had gone to have something to eat and drink in civil uniform. It is alleged that constable Lokesh, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, started an argument with a local street vendor. It is alleged that after this he urinated on the man’s cart, while the other constable Hemant stood there watching.

Video went viral on social media

It has been told that when the accused constable was urinating on the cart, the local people tried to stop him. After this the accused also got into a tussle with the people. According to media reports, both the constables later apologized to the people and left from there. But people made videos of both and shared them on social media. It has come to light that the police team had also reached the spot, but no action was taken against the constables.

Later, when the video went viral on social media, the authorities suspended both the constables. Regarding the incident, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Lakhan Yadav of Kanpur Police has said that both the constables currently posted in Dial 112 have been suspended. A departmental inquiry has also been initiated against him.
